Getting Started Guide
Launch Vyn

Welcome to your Vyn beta access.

Vyn compares your resume to a specific job posting and shows you exactly what to change — missing keywords, weak bullet points, and a full rewrite you can download as a Word file. This guide covers everything you need to get your first result.

Ready to go?

Open Vyn in your browser — nothing to install, it runs entirely on your screen. Have your access code from the welcome email handy.

Launch Vyn

First time here? Follow the 6 steps below ↓ to get to your first result.

See how it works

A quick preview of the whole flow — from uploading your resume to downloading the improved version. Your real screens will look just like this.

1

Open the app

Click the Launch Vyn button at the top of this page (or in the header) — Chrome or Edge works best. You can also go straight to:

https://vyn-beta.pages.dev/app
Nothing to install. The app runs entirely in your browser.
2

Enter your access code

Click the settings icon in the top-right corner of the app. You'll see a field labelled Beta Access Code. Paste in the code from your welcome email and click Save Code.

Your access code looks like: vyn-jane47291038  ·  It's personal to you — please don't share it.

A note on privacy: Vyn logs which features you use and when, tied to your access code only — never your resume, job posting, or any personal details. Your documents are never read or stored by Vyn's infrastructure.

3

Upload your resume and add a job

The app will prompt you to drop your resume into the upload zone — or click to browse. Word documents (.docx) give the best results. Once uploaded, Vyn reads your resume and shows you a quick Resume Baseline — a score out of 100 and the first things to fix, before you've even picked a job.

From the baseline, click Add a job to target your quick wins →. Then fill in two things:

A
The job title and company — just the role you're applying for.
B
The job posting — copy the full job description from LinkedIn, Indeed, or the company website and paste it into the text box. The more complete the posting, the better the analysis.
Tip: Use a real job you're actually applying to. The results are specific to that posting — not generic advice.
4

Run your analysis

Click Analyze Resume. It takes about 20–30 seconds. Vyn reads your resume against the job posting and produces your results.

You can add as many jobs as you like — each one gets its own analysis. Vyn remembers them all until you clear your browser.
5

Review your results and get your rewrite

You'll see a match score out of 100, a one-line read on how you stack up for this role, and your top fixes. Tap Why this score? ▾ to see the full breakdown of what's working and what isn't.

When you're ready, click Improve My Resume →. Vyn walks you through suggested rewrites one at a time — for each one, click Accept this change ✓ to keep it or Skip to pass. Every suggestion is based only on what you actually wrote — nothing is invented.

6

Download your updated resume

Click Download to save your rewritten resume as a Word file (.docx), ready to open, review, and send. Always read through it before submitting — it's a strong starting point, but you know your experience best.

What each part of your results means

🎯

Match Score

A number from 0–100 showing how well your resume aligns with this specific job. 85 or above is a strong match. 75–84 is well-matched with minor gaps. Below 60 means there's meaningful room to improve.

🔑

Missing Keywords

Words and phrases the employer is looking for that don't currently appear in your resume. These matter because many companies use software to filter applications before a person reads them.

💡

Suggestions

Specific improvements to your resume for this role — which sections to strengthen and how. More targeted than general resume advice.

⚠️

Resume Gaps

Things a recruiter might notice as missing or unclear — not faults, just areas to address. Worth reviewing so nothing catches you off guard in an interview.

Polish your whole resume — no job needed

The steps above tailor your resume to one job. But you can also have Vyn check and improve your resume on its own, before you pick a job. You'll find this on the Profile screen — click Profile in the top-right corner of the app.

1
Run a Health Check. Under 🔍 Resume Health Check, click Run Resume Health Check. In about 20–30 seconds you get a recruiter's-eye read of your resume on its own: a baseline score out of 100, what's working, what a recruiter might question, and your single most important fix.
2
Polish it. Below the results, click ✨ Polish My Resume. Vyn rewrites your whole resume to fix awkward wording, structure, and anything that weakens your credibility — all based only on what you actually wrote.
3
Review and save it. You'll see a What changed list. Click Download Word file to save the polished version, Use this text as my base now to make it your working resume inside Vyn, or Upload edited version as master after you've tweaked the file yourself.
Vyn never makes up numbers. If a bullet would be stronger with a figure — a percentage, a dollar amount, a headcount — Vyn lists it under 🔢 Add these numbers (only you know them) rather than inventing one. Fill those in yourself before you send the resume out.
Polish vs. tailoring: Polish is a general clean-up of your resume with no job attached. To target a specific role, add that job on the main screen and run a full analysis (steps 1–6 above) — that's where Vyn matches keywords and tailors your resume to the exact posting.

Other features worth knowing about

Cover Letter Generate a tailored cover letter for any job in your list. Find it in the job detail area once your analysis is done.
Application Tracker Log where you've applied, track interview dates, and add notes — all in one place.
Find Jobs Paste a list of job postings and Vyn will score them all against your resume at once — useful when you're deciding which roles to prioritise.
Career Insights After you've added a few jobs, Vyn looks across all of them to identify patterns — skills that keep coming up, gaps that appear in multiple roles.

Tell us what's working (and what isn't)

Look for the 👍 / 👎 buttons under any result Vyn shows you — the score, the rewrites, the cover letter, the follow-up email. Tap one, optionally add a one-line note, and hit Send. Your feedback comes straight to the Vyn team by email. We read every one and reply within 24 hours when you've left a note.
